He is trying to start this new auto insurance plan which will raise the rates by more than 50% for classified "high risk" drivers. It is not fair to some of us who had one or two accidents 2 years ago and are now starting to repair their record. While currently as their insurance points decrease their premiums decrease, once his plan goes into effect, these people with still an ever improving record will be getting the shit end of the stick. I hate this guy. He is going about the auto insurance problem the wrong way.

160,000 people will be affected with higher rates while 40,000 will get lower ones. It looks like he's alienating a larger group..right?

Well, the guy is a fucking joke. He also wants to pay us guys in green less money for every drill. He basically wants to cut the pay in half. I'll use myself as an example. I make about 130 something every drill. That'll be cut down to 60 and some change for being out the whole weekend in the dirt because my unit think they're all Rambo. Most of them never served in the real Army and think it's all a fucking game, but whatever that's another story.

I don't understand why insurance in New Jersey is so terrible. This is fucking bullshit. Those companies make sooo much fucking money it's ridiculous

They do make alot of cash. But a big reason is insurance fraud. Alot of kids my age that are driving around in their hopped up civics get a lot of the work done due to insurance claims made on the cars. Atleast half the kids with these cars gets paint jobs or some sort of body work done or engine work done because of this. If they arent doing that, some have engines from stolen insurance job car thefts. It happens alot around here. They say hondas/acuras get stolen the most around here. Most of it is "organized" stealings to get rid of the car, get money, sell the parts to someone who wants to upgrade their car. It happens all the time. If they need to overhaul something they need to first look at the claims people make. Some kid a few years ago made more than 4 claims on his BMW. Actually, He died in a car accident on the way home from picking his car up from the body shop after its 2nd paint job...another insurance scam.

I knew about the acuras and hondas but I didn't knwo it was such a big fucking problem. Fucking lazy ass people make me sick man.

Jersey loves to elect liberal douchebag governers. Anyone remember Florio? Douchebag. I used to live in Perth Amboy. I was born in Bayonne. Gotta get outa there man. Jersey sucks. The people are cool though, and you gotta love the girls. Nicest girls around.

Yeah that's the same thing I was thinking when I was in high school, that's why I signed up for the Army my junior year lol. It was great to get away for a few years from all the fumes from the fucking factories. I can't wait to leave again, probably for good this time around. Colorado girls are hot too bro, and they love us east coast boys, "You're from New Jersey?!?! Oh my God, that's like right next to New York!!"

Not only that but...

NJ is the most densely populated state. Where there is more people-more congestion-more cars-higher probability for accidents. Accidents cost money to fix...Why so much?

Because a dumb body shop guy charges a fixed rate of 2.5 hours of labor to install a fender on someones car.(not including any extra body work...that is added on extra) Labor is at an average of $65/hour. In reality though, it takes the body shop guy less than an hour to install the fender. If all you needed was a simple fender....nothing else...they will charge you for the full time even though it took them much less to put on.

You cant tell a shop what they should charge..But if the Govt wants to start regulating insurance costs, they could offer tax breaks to body shops that charge a more accurate amount for repairs. That alone will cut insurance companies overhead in half. They also need to go after the fraud that goes on. It's hard to catch but most of the time it is someone keying up their car to get a new paint job. And back to the body shop it goes..

My friends car got hit a few months ago. We got various estimates and our lowest one was just under $2,000.00. They rated the total labor around 15 hours. There was no frame damage, just a matter of swapping parts and getting them painted. We bought all the pieces for $300.00 and fixed the car on our own. In maybe 3 hours total.
