Nizoral Shampoo

I have read that people are using this product for hair loss. From what I know, this is a dandruff shampoo right? Why not use Nioxin that is actually designed to remove DHT?

I'd like to know too...been using nioxin for almost 2 months and haven't noticed much improvement..I was thinking about mixing nioxin with nizoral

So many of you use this product. One of you has to know why you use it. Though it would be funny if you are all using it thinking it helps with hair loss and all it does is what the bottle says it does, remove dandruff.

I believe the active ingredient is the same in both, if I'm not mistaken.

Ketonconazole 1-2%

It has been purportedly proven to deplete androgen levels in the scalp and to cause hair re-growth and thickening.

Problem with Rogaine, stop using it and the hair falls out. Also, I have read that Rogaine is only effective for up to 36 months. So you're just delaying the problem.

I have used Rogaine, Nioxin, Nizoral, Saw Palmetto, Lysine and probably something else that I'm just forgetting. Of all of these methods, the Nizoral works the best for me. I use it every day although the bottle says to use it every few days. It has done very well and I will continue to use it.

Here is a tip a hair specialist told me: use a confortable soft bristle brush and lightly apply 100 strokes of the brush to your hair and scalp each day. Every swipe of the brush = 1 stroke. It only takes a couple of minutes. I noticed within a few days I had no more hair falling out in the shower. It does not pull the hair out any worse, it increases circulation to the scalp, which is what nioxin is supposed to do. This way is cheaper than nioxin.

Good luck.

I was worried about that too but the lady who told me said something about only worry if your hair is very long and if your hair is brittle but otherwise to just make sure and brush lightly. You definitely don't want to press hard and get your scalp inflamed. The brush I have has the wide knobby rubber teeth, not plastic so it's comfortable. I would think that if brushing makes them fall out then they were coming out soon regardless.
