NB,

Have you been to Dream or to VIP yet? If so, what did you think? Were the chicks hot and the guys buff? Do I need mortgage the house to get in? The scoop, son, the scoop!
 
I thought this tread was going totally be a flame fest at my expense.

Dream is pretty cool, I've gone therer twice. One night it was full of good looking guys and girls. The other night it was kind of a club crowd since this one popular DJ was there. Cover both times was $20. Supposedly it can get higher than that.

There were lots of hot chicks of many nationalities, but I really didn't think the guys were all that special, although I wasn't paying that much attention to them. A lot of them were normal build. dress is pretty upscale. I kinda found the crowd to be rather pretentious, with the "what kind of car do you drive/how much money do you make" attitude. The structure itself is impressive, there are like 4 levels I think, and one of them has an outside patio which is pretty cool

It's not bad, but I wouldn't make it an every weekend jaunt. It's kind of hard to meet people at places like that. I'm more of a Georgetown waterfront type person.

VIP I haven't been to yet. Where do you normally go?
 
What are you guys doing for New Years in DC?

I'm not sure about what I'm doing for new years. Usually I just go to parties. This year I don't know.

Nope. Madrid-Glasgow-London-DC. I'm definately settling in
DC in late Nov. though probably for good.

NB Sorry about not replying. For some reason, I was getting an error message when I tried to reply to this post.

Anyway, I had heard Dream was a cool place to hang out, that is if you have the money. $30 for parking and $40 to get access to the VIP area. How was the DJ? There was an article in the City Paper about them not playing Go-Go because it supposedly attracted the wrong crowd. Would like to go sometime.

You really don't want to know where I hang out. Reference Big Bucks thread about gays in the military, you'll figure it out. If you really want to know, I will tell you :D

Fonz, I live in NW DC too, but have no plans (as yet) for New Years. Anybody else?

They were playing house music when i was there one time, the other time I don't recall. No go-go music, I know that much.
 
Actually, its a black club in SE DC called the Bachelors Mill. They have some good pool tables, and the music is R&B oldies. Plus they have Heinekin in 40's :D

The dance club is downstairs, but I don't go, I would feel odd as the only white boy dancing (if you want to call what I do on the floor as dancing).

LOL I don't think they are 40's, but they are damn close.

I don't consider myself a wigger, I just have a wide range of tastes :D

One social comment. It is funny to see some black guys looking my way in interest, but won't come over to talk to me because their friends are around.

But get them alone, and they will put the moves on! I do not understand why people let peer pressure get in the way of their dating habits.

I could get away with that. Need a trip to the mall though. I've got dress clothes for work (too formal) or kahkis (if I were going to a country club). I don't have the body for B folds slut shirt.

There is a place in downtown DC that sells some nice casual stuff, but I'm not paying $150 for a short sleeve shirt
 
My sister told me that a nice Latin Dance club
opened up on F Street. I might check that out next month.

I live near SF. But I only go there to get my motorcycle serviced and to visit Mitchel Brother's place.

Which waterfront? In SW DC or the one in Georgetown? Georgetown, I can understand, but SW? That place is a tourist trap disguised as seafood restaurant row.

I fucking HATE smoke. Plus I like a chill place where you can hear yourself think and what the person next to you is saying.

So far the only place I have heard of in DC area that is smoke-free is the Clarendon Ballroom. Do you guys know of any other places?

And for awesome Hefeweizen check out Gordon Biersch near the MCI center, but not before a Wizards or a Caps game.

Also did y'all ever go to Tracks when it was open that place was AWESOME.

There are not too many smokeless places that I know of.

My favorite hefeweisen is at Capitol City Brewing Co. Not bad food either.

Tracks was ok, but I felt like somebody's dad in that place after awhile. Nation has some cool circuit parties every now and then.

Yeah I've had the Cap City but the Gordon Bierch is the best.

I liked tracks because there were mad chicks there that there was little competition for. Not that I went there to hook up but it always seemed to happen. Also I liked the sign at the front:

I have always wanted to check out the waterfront. It always seemed like a noce place to take a fine lady. Romantic and all that. I'll check it out.
