I am one of the unlucky souls who has trouble with hunger even while on ECA, 5-HTP, etc.. That stuff usually works for about a week, but when the jittery side effects wear off so does the hunger satiation. I've been reading alot about nicotine's effect on hunger and would like to give it a try. I've done some searching on this site but there isn't much info out there so I have a few questions if anyone with experience can answer.
I would like to go the patch route for simplicity's sake, and because I don't want to have to remember to chew gum all the time. I've never smoked in my life and never plan to so obviously I won't need much nicotine to get the effect at first. My main question is regarding dosage via the patch. How much should I attempt to use in the beginning without causing myself to get sick? The only time I've ever had nicotine in my body was way back in high school when I attempted to chew some Skoal. I remember going to the mall and popping some in my mouth right before I went in. I almost immediately got the light headed "high" feeling and not long after I felt queasy for some time. After that experience I never tried it again.
Does anyone know how much nicotine is contained in a pinch of chew or a cigarette? And how long does it take to enter the system? I know the patch is supposedly a 24 hour time released dose so you would have to take a higher dose whereas the gum is probably released faster so you'd take less mg per dose.
At any rate I'd appreciate any feedback regarding the nicotine. I don't have an addictive personality so I don't think I'll have a problem with addiction. I plan on taking days off of it anyways so that my body doesn't become too accustomed to having the nicotine.
