NHL Playoffs

BBR100

New member
Start tomorrow night....with some great matchups in first round including;

Boston/Montreal- :chomp: longtime rivalry that's always fun. Savard and Bergeron will be healthy for Bruins which should make things interesting.

New York/New Jersey- Rangers have owned Devils this year.

Ottawa/Pittsburgh- Crosby and Malkin should handle Sens easily.

Washington/Philly- Ovechkin and Broad St. Bullies

San Jose/Calgary

Anaheim/Dallas

Colorado/Minnesota

Detroit/Nashville

Hope there'll be interest here and in Bookie Forum.

go Detroit

do you guys want series prices for the matchups?

there's 8 series

Sure, I'll bet some hockey I know nothing about. Certainly can't do any worse than my NCAA basketball bets.

NHL post season is crazy exciting
especially when they go to overtime

it can end in an instant
there will be scrambles in front of the net and you'll be on the edge

i'm a devils fan but after the ny football giants winning the superbowl. i'm not caring much about my other teams. maybe i'll get into it when they start the series.

I use to love hockey, even collected hockey cards as a kid. I got bitter when they took my Whalers away and I stopped watching. I miss going to the Thunderbirds games in Seattle, those were good times. Did Turner Stevenson ever amount to anything? I remember he was a prospect when playing for the 'Birds.

I hear you. I felt the same way about baseball when they took my team away.
Stevenson was drafted in first round by Montreal and was always a solid, dependable player who stuck up for his teammates. Unspectacular but the kind of player every team needs.

My team is Montreal, and they are looking pretty good to make a good run this year. The only 2 teams I'm worried about them meeting is Pittsburgh and Detroit. I think if Detroit makes it to the finals its theirs.

montreal is a huge favorite

In this series against Boston for sure. 8-0 this season and 11-0 going back to last year.
Reset all to zero in playoffs. These two teams have a long history that's always entertaining.
Rabid hockey fans in Mtl and talk of going all the way is premature.

Habs are gonna rape Boston: the Bruins are their bitch. Have been all season, and have been throughout their long history. Also, Chara is Kovalev's bitch...and when Kovalev really wants to win a game, he can pretty much do it by himself regardless of what the other team tries to do to stop it.

I'm glad that Kovy has the C right now...he's been our real leader all year. In fact, if they're on a great roll whenever Koivu comes back, they should leave the C on him; can't be too superstitious during the playoffs, and I firmly believe that when things are going well you change as little as possible.

From 1987-94, the Bruins owned the Habs.

Revenge for the Marc Savard from behind hit will be given in this series, look for one of the Habs stars not to make it out of this series, thus, all bets are off after that.

Could also happen the other way (Bergeron ? lol). We have a few bums (Kostopoulos, Begin, Lapierre...) who have nothing to lose.

I forgot how Kovalev pwned Chara this season lol

Bruins have to play physical. Lucic and Thornton running Price and Chara punishing Kovalev. Montreal lacks tough guy to respond but lack of discipline will be costly with habs powerplay.
Canadiens and Bruins in playoffs. Who knows for sure.
It's gonna be fun.

Mikey Mo, Turco and company. Bringing Lord Stanley's cup to the great state of Texas.... again!

Gainey and Carbonneau were with Stars then.

Gotta like a team from the west to win it all with Detroit, San Jose and Anaheim.
For individual stars I like east with Crosby, Ovechkin, Malkin...

Habs = 1 Stanley cups and one final....

Bruins ? lol........

They got to the finals once...and blew it big-time.

The team just never could figure out how to win the big one...that's why Ray Bourque walked out on the losers to get his cup in Colorado.

yeah, you need to be "hot" when the playoffs start, unfortunately the Stars are just the opposite.... :-(

that Brad Richards is something though, MF'er can play, hell of a trade they made.....

Not how it happened bro. Bruins showed class as an organization by sending one of the classiest players to Avalanche and chance to win it all. I'm sure there's nothing he wanted more in his career than to bring cup back to Beantown.

Chris Nilan was an imposter - fayag
whoa Mouse. Nilan was one of my favourites. Good bro from MASS.

Partied a couple x with him on Crescent.

He liked to PAWDY HAWDY as you guys from Boston say.

You're just upset because he used to beat the shit out of Jay Miller on a regular basis.

OMG, lol - Jay Miller, I use to see him around till he got dumped to LA. Grew up a few towns from me, what a punching bag he was.

Listen to CMarc hitman, he knows his hockey.

Borque loves Boston, and always will.

LOL, I'm kidding because knuckles is a Boston guy - I think we did too one night on Crescent, dude had a flock of chicks around him.

Nilan and Chris Chelios were regulars on Crescent.
Good thing for Chelios to get out of Montreal....Can't believe that guy's still playing...and may win another cup with Wings

I was trying to think of who else he was with, and yes it was Chelios - he was a good looking guy who the ladies liked. Hockey is so different now, it is really hard for us down here to get into it like years ago. Did you ever read Sanderson's Big Bad Bruins? if not, it is a great read.

I think they let Chelly go because of his carousing and closing bars.
I never read Big Bad Bruins but those days were great.
If you like hockey, best book was "The Game" by Dryden, the most cerebral hockey player bar none.

Just over 3 hrs to start of second season. Everyone has a chance.

I watched a lot of Dryden in nets - during the glory days of hockey versus the B's. I think he went Ivy league here and in the US. Too bad he didn't play longer.

Get the Sanderson book, trust me, its a quick read and you will laugh for days. They rolled Orr out of the hospital one night to a party (bed and all).

He was always more interested in getting his law degree. His description of the game gives exceptional insight. Some great stories involving Bruins.

I'm sure Sanderson's book is good read. I'll find it. He was a serious partier as well and cut short his career due to drugs but righted that ship.

In dividaul games are up for tonight
all four
2 close contests and 2 big home favorites

3 of tonight's are up
waiting on an updated calgary-san jose line

lets go philly! they got a solid team. defense gives up the puck in front of the goalie too much but that can be fixed. they were flying the last week, playing much faster and using their speed. making 3 line passes with accuracy. briere, richards, carter, et al are going to be FLYING!

goalie situation, as usual, is sketchy but biron can play. if the defense tightens up this team can roll.

I think you're right. Everyone is underestimating Philly because of spectacular Ovechkin and Caps impressive finish.

Wow - great B's-Canadians series...could just as easily be 2-1 B's as this point...upset of the season if they can win more.

You shut your mouth when you're talking hockey eh?

Nice win for them though, The devils got back in it too.

The Avs will still win the series in 5.

The red wangs still suck. So does calgary FCF (fucking calgary fan)

Intensity is what playoffs are all about.
Bruins took away Mtl's speed and skill.
We've got a series.

true, people here are just kind of pissed they lost game 2, may of been a lost opportunity.

Games #2 and 3 could have gone either way. That's Boston/Montreal playoff hockey.
Good guys come out on top though.

Habs have without fail come back strong after a loss this season. I expect them to be all over Boston in game 4, much like they were in game 1.

O'Byrne for Brisebois would be a good move...we need more physicality in our own end. Boullion I'm not sure if he's ready to go yet, but if he is, I'd like to see Streit moved to forward and Dandenault out.

Bruins are hitting everything that moves.
Speedy, skilled players have to be willing to pay price more often.

they are knocking the defenseman around, I'm guessing they won't have much left for the Cup run if this becomes a long series.

flyers have been in lockdown mode on the caps. they lost that 1st game because they sat on their asses. game 2, fucking lockdown. caps had a 10 minute stint with no shots followed by a 7 minute stint later. sick!
