Directly it does not do much. If I took AAS and did not work out and I kept kept the same calorie intake, I would probably see very little body composition change.
But, AAS allows more intense and longer work outs. This means more calories burned. Also, AAS builds muscle and muscle burns calories.
My comments about Quad was not so much that AAS is a fat reducing agent but rather he mentioned that he was 215 at 3.4% and he did it without DNP or T3. My assertion is that his body composition would not be achievable without AAS. Sure he could be 3.4% but to do it naturally he probably weight about 180 pounds. Our he could be 215 but his bf might be 15%. AAS allows more muscle and lower bf% to be acheived then if no AAS were used.
