Hi there! I have done some CKD dieting in the past and now I'm planning on doing it again in a week or so. I have read many forums regarding low carbing and dieting and I came across something that disturbed me somewhat. It was mostly in forums that had to do with atkins. There seemed to be people that were experiencing hair loss due to their low carb diet and ketosis.

The hair loss began about 3 months after they had started their WOE. Now I'm wondering if anyone here has had any hair loss from CKD? I know that it's a different diet cause it has this carb up that upregulates thyroid levels for example but as a person that is trying to lose weight and maintain muscles at the same time AND trying to grow hair past my butt :) this was kind of disturbing! Any opinions anyone?

Hair loss? Attributed to Ketosis, NO science behind that. They are probably middle-aged people that are due for a hair fallout. Don't worry about it, most of the "atkins" forums out there are full of lazy slobs that don't want to do any work and make excuses for themselves. EX: I post on one of the forums to help a lady w/ the diet/excersise she needed, her reply: "oh that's too much work"....

Don't listen to idiots, it might rub off.

HAHAHAHAHAHA. True that man :FRlol: . X tried to help a few people out there and tell what needs to be done in order to reach ketosis and get REAL results. They would come back saying its too hard, and that they are just going to do it their own way...... But why would they listen to Mr.X anyways, they have the guru of all CKD's; TrainerDan. LOL. BUNCH OF MORONS.

Hey Mr. X when running a CKD diet su-f with friday night and saturday being your carb up, it usually takes me till tuesday night to fall back into ketosis now is 3 days of ketosis really worth all that or should I run CKD for 2 weeks which will keep me in Ketosis 9.5 days instead?

I think it might be attributed to many factors, the speed of Ketonic recovery (dropping into ketosis) is based on a lot of things....
maybe you're doing something wrong, what are you doing to get back into Ketosis?

I think your right about that "too much work" thing, it seems to me that most of them don't even get enough fat. It is very hard to eat all that fat and try to get the good fats.

Last time I did it, I got very good results with mo,tu and fri workouts and some cardio between them. Sure I was kind of hard to live with all the carb cravings but I think it was definately worth it.

I'm taking some MSM, biotin and Viviscal to prevent hair loss (if any is to occur) and I'm going to buy Nizoral as well. I'll be starting saturday morning and I'm going to have my carb up from thursday to friday. What do you guys think of that? If I could I would start mo-fri and have a weekend carb up but due to my schedule it's impossible :(

Assuming you're a woman by the s/n, why all the precautions for hairloss? Your DHT levels are might low, so I do not see the problem. Ketosis DOES NOT cause hair loss, that's final.

As for your carb cravings, add 5-HTP and NYC to your diet, and you'll see most of these cravings go away.
