Hi, I need some help. I am 5' 10" and weigh approx. 270lbs. I am not that fat but i weigh a lot and so i beleive that i have a lot of unused muscle that might just need to be used since i am out of shape. OK so heres the question, I am wondering if i can/should use "gear" i think you call it to lose the weight first or should i just build with the fat already in place? will it convert into muscle or what. thank you for your help.
 
thanks that's what i was thinking but i really have no clue where to start but i am very interested in building muscle and bodybuilding as a full time thing so any help on where i should start would really help

At least you're starting out right by asking.

The first thing is find a gym and join...no bowflex or stuff like that.
Visit the diet board to get some advice on eating
The main thing that will transform you is Diet, Cardio,Exercise.

Remember Fail to plan= plan to fail!

I would reccomend that you lift to, gain some muscle for a few weeks. This added muscle will raise your metabolism slightly. After that look into doing a CKD diet. Many people have had success with this diet, as it will allow you to lose the most fat with the least ammount of muscle. Do not try putting on muscle mass untill you are at about 12% BF.
