In my opinion you are wrong but anyway.....I have always started my strength phase in September and yes that includes increased calories. The only time I have not done a strength/bulk phase is when I competed in bodybuilding contests in October/November. For me it does not make sense to be carrying around plastic tubs of chicken during the holidays and focusing on an upcoming contest.
This does not mean I don't train hard during the Fall-Early Winter. Heavy Pulls, Squats and Flat Bench are prioritized during this time.
Starting to get serious about my diet, after the holidays, always worked for me. So yes, I will be having fun New Years Eve.
i agree. its the perfect time start over, or to refocus if anything else. with all the holiday fuss and otherwise hectic schedule (dinner with the in-laws, business travel, entertaining guests etc.) its really hard to maintain a 'perfect' diet/workout sessions. it has nothing to do with being weak, it has everythign to do with being human.
cheers, happy holidays. training hard come the 1st
