new trainee need diet help

one of my buddies wants to start really making an effort to lose some flub.. His stats are
height: 6'3"
weight: 320
bf: ????
very little training experience.

What would you guys recommend for him to start losing weight... I am looking for something other than CKD because I am trying to give him a couple of different options. I am going to build him a clean diet w/out simple sugary carbs and w/out unhealthy fats.

At his weight I was thinking 3200 calories a day - is this too much?

He does not weight train at all, what would be a good cardio/weight training schedule...

yeah plus it has training ideas and a not so harsh nutrition plan which is easy on the carbs.
Only thing is don't buy into the Metrx crap, Bill phillips makes out like it's a part of the program just to sell that stuff.
And don't get your friend excited that s/he'll make such miraculous transformations either lol, some of those pictures are rather suspicious ;)
