hi guys,
whats up? im 20 male from nyc. six feet or six one and i weigh 160. just started working out about a 6 weeks ago. i work out about five days a week and am trying to gain weight. any advice for a noob? do weight gainer or protein shakes work? how often should i work out? mostly how can i get bigger?
 
Well you are asking a lot to be summarized in one post :)

If you are lifting 5 times a week then that is way too much and you won't gain under normal circumstances.

Try a program doing lifting 3 times a week. Like M, W, F
Try searching for size routines or splits. 5x5 worked well for me.

You could probably start gaining weight at 2500-3000 (you may gain a little fat going past 2500) calories a day. Weight gainer would help if you are having trouble getting in that many calories a day from regular food. Most people say you should get like 1.5 times your bodyweight in protein per day.

ya i know its alot. on monday wed and friday i do legs chest and biceps, tuesday and thursday i do shoulders and tris. im trying to get a bigger chest and bigger delts but i dont know how to make a schedule to work out. people tell me not to work chest and tris or shoulders the same day cuz you cant work out as good. is that true? like certain muscles shouldnt be on the same day?
 
You shouldn't do large muscle groups like chest and legs 3 times a week. You can do tri's and chest on the same day, but it depends on your split and order they are done. Run a search on 5x5 by 'needsize' his split is great.
