gentleman: Glad to be here among all of you. I have a quick question and maybe you guys can provide some feedback.

Q: How often do you take a break from so much protein intake (drinks specially)? I have to take a week of every 2 months or so. I can't stand the taste for so long. After a week or so off, I can slowly start again. How often (not during cycle of course) do you guys take a break from so much protein intake and for how long?

many thanks.

I try to get most of my protein from food. Are you relying on shakes for all your protein intake?

Very good question. You really need to have a complete chain of amino acids in your daily protein intake which means not just from protein shakes. You should be eating different sources of protein for optimal uptake. Personally, I love the taste of steak or hamburgers.

I agree. Protein drinks are supplements. I drink one pre lifting and one post lifting. none on cardio days. use real food

i dont like the shakes much either but optimum choclate is pretty good.I also like to make pancakes with my protein powder rather than drink them I have a recipe posted on the muslcle food forum do a search you should ba able to find it

Protein

in your daily intake of regular foods (such as chicken, tuna, turley, ham, etc) is still a most. I am refering to the rest of the protein such as powder meals. These things get to me after a while and I take a week break. I still eat chicken, etc. But stay away from the powders for a while.....

Switch it up between protein bars and powder. Sometimes it not easy to live this lifestyle. Think about the fat guy drinking a mountain dew & eating a snicker bar. That always makes it taste better to me.

Simply

you make a hell of a point. I have been taking a few days off the powder, it gets out of hand and really makes me want to puke. Still intaking proteins from regular food and watching my carb and fat intake.

Thanks for the feedback

Protein bars

are a good change, I can not stand taking only powders (give me mayor gas). Try switching between powder and bars. Don't forget that you also have to eat protein loaded foods (chicken, tune, steak, beans)....

later;)
