Looks like they've got a lot of sole. They feel decent?(motion, etc)

The high heel feels good on my back...and they are olympic lifting shoes. Make me lean fwd a bit on my standing presses. I should be able to use more leg drive when I am pressing...

overhead pics are kinda blurry, but those traps make you look like you have 3 heads. Way to build 'em

I was going to say the same thing, I wish I could bring my traps up like that...

those are pretty stylish!

how much faster can you run with them? :D :D

actually they look like they would be damn solid. i likes :)

They work wonders on squats and deadlifts, too. They look nice.

They are nice...but don't think that I'll be using them for squats or deads anytime soon. They roll out on squats and I can't sit back when I am doing deads near enough...

Thaibox: Thanks...sometimes my back and traps look pretty freaky...

I guess that my back is about my only good bodypart these days...

Well they should be with the amount of heavy stuff you pull from the ground and carry aorund :)

I need a pair of good solid shoes for squatting too, I had a good pair of adidas weight training shoes but they're worn out now. No one around here sells weight training shoes! :(

Yeah...I have very narrow feet and they size like leather dress shoes. Went with a 14.

Really? I haven't had a problem with mine rolling out on squats. I've found that they work great. I would have thought that with yours having 3 lateral straps that they would work better than mine. I understand about the deads, though.

http://www.qwa.org/products/content.asp

they sell the addidas ones

http://www.planetmax.com.au/home.htm in canberra sells otomix shoes as well

the first one is not quite what I'm after. The ones I had were more like sports shoes, but made for weight training, with very heavy duty heel and sole construction and support. No wooden heal though. Not sure if I'd want to jump aorund in a shoe with a wooden heel in the gym - anyone tried that? :)
Plus I prefer black shoes

What are the otomix shoes like? Solid heel and soles?

http://store.yahoo.com/otomix/otomixfootwear.html

i dont like the look of them....as you know i will be OL from now. and the adidas ones look like the buisness for C&J/snatch on a platform.

I might just stick with my nikes till i can afford them.

ps i have seen people walking around my work wearing the otomix shoes..............please wear them in the gym and only the gym

there was a shop in newtown....now closed that sold those otomix shoes and shoes like them.
and there was a shop that sold gym equipt (like hammer strength and bear) i think it was in straithfield/ashfield or somewhere like that (you pass it on your way out of sydney...towards canberra).

just look up gym equiptment and fitness/ supplys in the yellow pages. also health food stores...look for the body building shops and call them and ask if they sell shoes) if we have them in canberra...you will have them in sydney for sure

You can't "split the floor" when you squat if you are wearing OL shoes...you can in Chucks. I squat with a lot of hips though...and hams.

Endpoint - The low cut Ottomix look cool, but what I wanna know is how solid is the heel? Needs to be stiff enough to resist heavy squats :)

What do you mean by split the floor?
I have squatted the way you do in the past, but now I do it more quad heavy style.

When you squat wide stanced...you should try to split the floor in two pieces with your feet...you can't do that with olympic lifting shoes...

ahhh ok, well that won't apply to me, I only squat shoulder stance olympic style now :)

i dont have the ankle flexibility to squat that close (to go ATF). even on my front squats im just outside shoulder width (unless i really do have wide shoulders...hehe).

its good to think spread the floor with squats just because you activate lateral stabilizers but for me....the challenge is going UP. so i visualize driving my heels into the ground...and then slamming my hips forward. (so i guess i can buy those shoes :D )

I do deep lateral lunges for that sort of stability

Well when I come up I literally kick the ground away, instead for pushing through the heels like most do :)

I get up more explosive this way, and it prevents the ass up first good morning effect. Its amazing how such subtle cues can change how an exercise feels rather dramaticly
