Hey bro's...I am giving myself a pat on the back just because I feel good today!
iI decided to try for a 1R Max on bench today. I have not maxed out in about 4 to 5 years(which was 360 pounds back then). I have only been back into working out for 1 year since I had an accident and 6 surgeries in 2 years. I am also impressed with my strength since I am still losing weight on my current cycle, in week 10, I have dropped back to only 3 pounds gained, but my legs are definitely bigger and my strength is still going up.
Anyway, I started with a warm up of 200 for 10 then went to 250 for 5. I then decided to go ahead and try for 360. I nailed it fairly easily for 1 rep, then I went for 370 and pushed it up....next 380, NAILED it too!. Wnet to 390, struggled but got it up and stopped at that one. I was satisified, and I will try for 400 in a couple of weeks just so I can say I got it!
