New Law Signed Yesterday

I caught the tail end of a news report that said either congress or the senate signed a law which is going to allow
the importation of drugs by mail from foreign countries. I just caught the tail end - so I was wondering if any of the resident experts knows anything about this. I'm sure it's not going to help us with AS but it might help with aux. meds.

They allow any non-controlled shit through?? Ancillary drugs are never hard to import.

Nope, i think ya misunderstood what you heard. there was attempt to attach an amendmend to the FY 02 Agriculture appropritaions bill that would have allowed wholesalers to re-import drugs manufactured in the US, then sold abroad for less than they cost domestically. The amendment was shot down.

I thought the old law allowed the importation of prescription drugs for those people that were prescribed drugs when out of the country (like on vacation) and was put into place to allow them to continue the therapy when they returned to the US. I believe that it was through a loophole that all these foreign pharmacies could legally send drugs to the US if accompanied by a prescription. Maybe the new law is just a statement that the loophole is expressly OKed, so there is no confusion over the legitimacy of the loophole. That would be no big change, just a clarification from congress, which is common when they find that their laws are being interpreted a certain, nonintended way, consistent with the populace. Then again, I didn't see the news, so I could be full of shit.
