New here: HELP with stretchmarks

Hey guys,

I recently started working out and have been getting bad stretch marks on my arms.....i heard something about using retin A, but dont know much more than that.....what kind of retin A, where can i get it, how much?

on a side note, a football accident the other day left me with a rip/strech on my elbow...i thought it was a scrape at first.....will retin A reduce that. It is not a total rip in the skin, but it sorta ripped a few of the top layers???

since i cant wait a week to order this online, can i get it locally? if not what can i do NOW to reduce this?

thanks

doesn't retin A fight acne? i can't see how that would help you

retin A also fights wrinkles as well

it can fight strech marks too

say "hi" since you just made friends for life

use cocoa butter and vitamen E and also mederma

Retin A is useful in stretch marks because it causes the skin to turn over rapidly. This can help fill in stretch marks however its usually only effective in newer stretch marks (ones that are still red or pink). The easiest way to get it is go see the dermotologist its not a controlled substance or anything so they shouldn't have a problem proscribing it to you. Also Vitamin E and Cocoa Butter are good. There is a new lotion that has both in it although i dont remember the name right off hand.

thanks guys,

can i get cocoa butter at any big grocery store??

and how do i apply these......... grind up the vit E tablets, mix with cocoa butter and apply??????

or take vit E internally and apply cocoa butter to the strech marsk

I just think of mine as warrior wounds.... They come from growth and heavy lifting. Just go with it bro there is no stoping them.

it is not like a bullit wound bro......fat chics get these too

well cocoa butter can be found in grcoery stores....look by the lotion areas......it is cheap.....just rub it in area 3 times a day

u can go to a dermotoligt and and they do some laser treatments to get rid of them as well......if u are black it is hard to cover with a tan....if u are white tanning can help hide them

also at the pharmacy look for "Scar Zone" or Mederma...both fight scarring!

Retin-a is prescription only. So either you have to get it prescribed or find another way to get it. If you have bad acne you might be able convince your doctor to prescribe it for you, but reducing stretch marks is an off label use I believe, so you're less likely to get it prescribed for that purpose.

Anyway, Retin-A was really the only thing that helped my stretch marks heal/fade. Fresh stretch marks pretty much disappeared with the Retin-a, but less recent scars only faded.

I used high dose Vitamin E before using Retin-A, and the stretch marks seemed to fade, but I really don't know if that was from the vit. E, or just happened with time. Vitamin E and mederma can't hurt, but they don't work for everyone.

I have my stretch marks on my biceps, armpits and edges of my chest. I had finally gotten my diet and training together and grew much faster than expected, so there wasn't much I could do when they started forming. Now the ones on my bi's are completely faded. The skin just has a weird texture. The huge ones in my armpits will likely never fade. They were brutal huge tears in the skin. They actually hurt and looked pretty nasty when they were forming. I don't really care though, they're in my fuckin' pits. The ones on my chest faded a little, but my chest has been growing nicely, so I guess I need to start using the Retin-a again to stop them in their tracks.
