I hope I am posting in the right forum...
I have been lurking for a little while trying to soak up as much as I can keep straight in my head. Here is my situation... maybe you guys can set me straight. I know what I am posting is probably a loaded post- but it doesn't hurt ask- right?
Anyways...
I am 31 y/o working as a Network Admin (desk job). I am 6 Ft and my average weight is usually about 240 lbs. I have recently forced myself to use the South Beach Diet and have myself down around 212 lbs. I am not happy with my body shape or it's performance. And I know the last 10 to 12 lbs will be a fight.
I do have some bulk, not much compared to you guys, but I have some- probably because meat is a mainstay in my diet. Veggies and fruits are difficult for me. I do like some of each, but not a wide variety. I drink lots of fresh unpasterized goat's milk as well.
Anyways - I feel like I am 60 when I should still be somewhat in my prime. I also have loss of concentration, poor memory, moodiness, etc. 31 is too soon for this I think... I have had some blood work done and I am waiting for the results- if anyone cares to know I will be happy to share if it has any bearing on the suggestions that are given.
Despite the better eating and weightloss I still have no energy when I get home and I have no energy when I go to work. When I force myself to work out (weights & kickboxing & bike riding) I get to a point where it becomes more and more difficult to get out of bed in the morning, let alone go to work and then workout afterward. I become more tired as the days go on. Recovery from injuries takes too long as well. Bruises will stick around for 3-4 weeks when they used to be gone in 1-2. At that I seem to bruise easier than I used to.
I find myself wondering where is the extra energy I am supposed to get from working out? Or am I just a wuss and I am just complaining?
I have used various thermegenics and other supplements and teas to boost my metabolism. I will get a lift and then there is no more affect and I will crash within a week or two. I am beginning to feel as though maybe I have something else going on not related to my diet, and workouts. Perhaps a hormone/thyroid issue- Or maybe I have Barr-Epstiens.
All I know is I am tired of being tired and I want to work out and get into fantastic shape.
The short of this is, that maybe someone else has had my experiences and maybe has some suggestions to put energy back in this body so I can start doing somethign about the poor shape I am in.
I also wanted to know if there is anything to Tony Venuto? I like the few articles I have read from him, and I have an interest in his book. I like his physique as well.
Suggestions? Thoguhts?
Thanks.
