New "Emergency" Steroid Law passed

Ok this is taken from another board, but did anyone hear about this crap?

Here's the details:

Taken from Muscle Nexus. Originally taken from Animals board....

Done in secret and the emergency part was even done in exception and without the usual steps for other emergency actions of drug laws!

FASCISM! Secrets and emergencies.

You didn't even hear about this, did you?

I heard about it on ...............HOWARD STERN and then looked it up today as it was passed yesterday. Stern had more info on how the law was bastardized and didn't follow normal protocol, but I couldn't find it onthe web.

03.27.06 - U.S. Anabolic Steroid Punishments Increased!
The U.S. Sentencing Commission has published notice of temporary "emergency" (i.e., immediate) amendments to the federal anabolic steroid sentencing guidelines. Henceforth, injectable and oral steroids will be quantified for punishment in a 1:1 ratio to other Schedule III drugs, resulting in a twenty-fold measurement increase for injectable steroid units and a fifty-fold increase for oral steroid units. Steroids in other forms ("e.g., patch, topical cream, aerosol") will be reasonably estimated based on a consideration of 25mg as one unit. Additionally, sentencing enhancements will apply in cases involving distribution to "athletes" or where coaches use their positions to influence athletes to use steroids, as well as in cases involving "masking agents." While likely to impact dealers more than personal users, the new 1:1 ratio nonetheless ignores fundamental differences between steroid usage and volume patterns as compared to other Schedule III drugs. Other potential problems with the amendments include the lack of any reference to potency in oral or injectable steroids, potentially leading to black market adaptations to circumvent the amendment (e.g., the creation of high potency "mega-pills") as well as the lack of any knowledge requirement involving distribution (e.g., via the Internet) to unidentifiable customers who may turn out to be athletes. It is expected that the revisions will be made permanent by Congress in November.

These fucking guys never seem to amze me! Millions die from Cancer caused by cigerette smoke, but who cares, because there is always a loobyist there to accept some cash from Phillip Morris. Steroids on the other hand, kill next to none, but hell, lets treat it like it's crack cocaine.

This country is becoming a Joke. People just looking for shit to bitch about.

The one problem I see here is everyone tries to keep steroid use to themselves. Maybe if we all started telling others about our use and the positives involved, and how little risks there are maybe it will become more mainstream, and we can start living life like the Canadians and Uk folk. Wishful thinking, most definitely. But we all have the right to dream.

It's pretty classic and like the recent law in Mississippi that outlaw sex toys, this is just another platform issue. Yeah the deep south used up over 1000 legislative man hours to outlaw any 3 dimensional object that can be used to manually stimulate a person to orgasm.

Now that might seem like a great use of lobbyist cash, government resources, but it's another platform issue to get votes. I mean do you think that a state that has a $0.38 lower cigarette tax than the national average, the highest percentage of residents on welfare, and a 67% obesity rate really needs a sex toy law?

I think we should put in an emergency law to outlaw trans fat and fast food and slim all these fuckers down.

blah blah blah, this made allot more sense in my head, but oh well it's just a rant

I dunno bro, I don't get nearly as much shit from people for being on roids these days. Most of the girls I meet don't even ask me if I use AAS, they just assume that I do. 10 yrs ago "are you on roids?" was one of the 1st 3 questions a person would ask me when I just met them-sometimes before they even asked me my name(people are idiots). I'm bigger now and rarely get asked anymore and when I do it's usually by an undercover cop in the gym fishing for who the resident gym dealer is. I play dumb everytime. If you have to ask, you don't deserve the truth-especially if the truth is admitting to breaking the law.

If society knew just how many guys were using AAS and not dropping dead from them they could go back to pointing their fingers at the people that really have one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel: themselves. the smoker-drinker-antidepressant/PK popping-330+ cholesterol- couch potatoes w/ bad lower back from their high school glory days. These are the peeps that make health insurance so expensive and I don't see any emergency laws being implicated to save them from themselves.
