New Diet Idea's/Opinions

Well, i'm looking for some ideas.

I'm 5'11" and i used to be about 285, 290, waist was 48. I lost about 100lbs on the Atkins diet. Now i'm 190ish, waist is a 35, but i'm still at about 16%BF, (hell, thats still down from about 26% :o ).

Basically, the past few months i've kind of taken a break. Nothing big or drastic at all. I still eat healthy, reasonable amounts (I've maintained my weight) but i've given myself my indulgences here and there.

Well, i'd like to drop my last 20 or 30lbs or so and get down to around 12% BF. I'm graduating college soon and i'll be off to Police Academy and i need to do a little more to get in shape besides my normal runs ;).

Should i go back on a strict Atkins-style diet, or is there something else anyone has to recommend. I seem to really respond well to a low carb diet. In fact, to many carbs make me feel like crap, but i'm open to suggestions. What sucks is that losing 100lbs was really a piece of cake compared to my last 20 or 30 :(.

To be honest w/ you, if it's working, why change it? I would say, stick to a very strict CKD, w/ variable carb-ups in smaller ratios due to your lower bf% then when first started.

Maybe cycle:
14 ketosis
2 day carbup

10 d ketosis
1 1/2 day carb up

5 days ketosis
1 day carb up

3 days in ketosis
1 day carb up

5 days ketosis
2 day carb up

21 days in ketosis (harsh)
1 day carb up

congrats man, damn 100 pounds good deal. ill be going into police in a couple yrs or so. id say just bump the cardio up bigtime. running, pushups, situps etc. focus on the activites that will be present during the academy. id say continue eating "healthy, resonable amounts" just bump up the intensity of the cardio. what agency are you looking on goign too????

Well, i think the main thing was a discouragement due to weight loss slowing (which is normal i know). I was going from losing 5-10lbs a month to basically nothing, to much scale watching, etc. But, it seems like what i was doing is basically the best thing i can be doing, at least for me. I guess a change up isn't really necessary. I think i'll give yours a try. Hell, you are the resident expert :D

tsarleon - Right now i'm planning on going local around here for a few years and then stepping up to something on the federal level. I'm interning with the Secret Service right now, so who knows there. That could definately lead to a job in the future. As far as the specific area, well, anti-sniper/swat, etc have always been the areas that have grabbed me the most. Hence the main reason why i decided to stop pushing my 285lbs of lard around and start doing something with my life ;)
 
I hear ya man... i have the same aspirations, but reverse situations. tired of being skinny man.. get tossed like a rag doll if shit hits the fan, so im gaingin weight. haha. good luck
