New bouncing job: Questions

I’ve been bodybuilding for 5 years now, I’m 6 foot even, 212. I’ve just gotten a job bouncing at a dance/bar club in Hamitlon, Canada. Any pieces of advice? Anything I should know? They pat down at the door, and they don’t allow bottles any more. The crowd is a typical university crowd. Appreciate what I can get. Thanks guys.

you have to buy one of those god aweful black leather mafia jackets.

MacMaster students? University students wouldn't seem to be too much of a problem judging from my university bar...although again...I go to Waterloo. But oddly enough there was a stabbing that shut down the place for 3 years.
I remember someone on this board being a bouncer in Hamilton.

Well first rule is always let me in with out waiting in line or paying cover :lmao:

I am not a bouncer but I dated one long enough to know a few things about it. Best thing is to talk a situation down not beat it down that is the last resort.Be confidant but not a cocky dick and don't take shit from anyone you give an inch they will take a mile.

WTF, is "I got a bounce job" the latest pick-up line...dudes it's a shitty job except for the chicks...what's the mystery here.

Treat them with respect but stand your ground. As somebody said, talk em out of the door instead of dragging em........this earns respect and avoids making you into a target. Make sure you know your team and who, if anybody, you are paired with.

im in brantford bro where are you bouncing at?

anyway like already posted talk to people, explain the situation clearly ,dont just grab someone and pull them out of the bar, but if you need to a choke hold is best, also never go into a situation alone, you could get hurt pretty damn bad. and always expect the worst, when talking to someone dont be to close ,be far enough away that you can watch their face, but also the hands, because thats what will hurt you.

good luck in the bouncing world, its a good time while it lasts

1. Always try to talk first

2. If you must act, do it quickly...and yell for backup whether you think you'll need it or not.

3. Learn the basics: choke holds, and a few arm restraints

avoid police at all costs.

avoid as in doing stupid shit to get your ass in trouble yes,but getting in good with the cops who patrol the area of the bar is a good thing, they are more likley to believe you if they think your a good guy, then some beefed up ass who likes trouble, you should also learn the legal amounts of force you can use for each type of force used against you
