Hi all. I am new to the board, although I have been lurking for several months.
I will give you a brief history and maybe you all can offer some advice. I am ……. Egads …… 40 years old. Over the last 10 years I have had 6 ankle surgeries two of which were fusions that did not work. Third time was a charm. The fusion attempts resulted in me being on crutches for 2 ½ years. Finally, 1 year ago to the week the orthopedic surgeon released me with no restrictions! One problem, I had ballooned to 320 lbs. Heh. That was at 42% Bf. Well over the last year I have lifted and been pretty diligent in my eating habits. I was very careful to create a caloric deficit of 500cal a day. I know how hard it is to lose a lot of fat and still build muscle. As of today, I am at 275 with 25% Bf. Not too bad added 21 lbs of muscle and lost 66 lbs of fat in the last year.
Here is my question, I feel like the last 10 years of my physical life has been wasted. Even at the age of 40 I want to build a body that most 20 year olds would envy! Maybe a midlife crisis. Heh I would like to try the pharmaceutical rout. However, I think I need to lose this last 45 lbs before start a cycle. Should I be patient and work another 2-3 months to shed the excess bulk? Possibly use a drug like cytomel to speed the process. Is it even too late to see the effects of AS. Do sides increase with age? Any thoughts? Phil
