Yo! Glad to hear it bro. Tell me -- were they the new ones or the "old school" routines. For those who haven't read the books, I have a section in both "The Bodybuilding Truth" and "Bottomline Bodybuilding" that's devoted to some weird exercises used by the old timers and they are BRUTAL. As a matter of fact today I did free standing barbell hack squats. I think that was the most uncomfortable 45 minutes of my life. But my legs haven't been so scorched in a long while. (Sometimes you have to do one of those "keep it real" workouts, ya know?)

Anyway, I can't post ALL the routines. Please somebody buy my books so I can afford the Primo cycle of my dreams! ( Just kidding of course)

Here's my original ab exercise article. It's been posted before, but in case anyone hasn't seen it and is interested...

i am doing the general workout in the "Truth About Bodybuilding" I have been doing this for 3 weeks ans are sore for 5-7 days per body part so i haven't even ventured into the special exercises yet...i figured once i can walk mormal after legs or straighten my arms out normal after bis i will try something new.

but for now...absolutely impressed, i have many years under myself with lifting and the human body itself...and the concepts that were in there all made 100% scientific sense, For example...the biceps supinate so supinate when you do them.

Great Stuff!!!

loving the calf routine. My calves have always sucked so hopefully I see some results in a few weeks. First time they were sore for 5/6 days...I mean really SORE!!!

Since very few people really love training calves it's nice to know that you don't need more than 4 minutes of calve training a week.

Do it twice a week (total 8 minutes) if you're really hardcore.

Nobody believes that before doing the workout.

Everybody believes it afterward.

I've been doing it 6x/wk plus I do 100 standing calf raises in the shower every night while pushing up on the ceiling for resisitence.

You do the full 75 reps with as little rest in-between reps as possible? Six times a week?

Mac, you're my new hero.

Seriously, that's intense. (And probably more stimuli than you could possibly recover from). Then again, sometimes you have to bomb a bodypart to force it to grow.

Everyone knows you have to cook you calves for 4 minutes or to an internal temperature of 180 degrees. Now that's just common sense. I bought his protein, I think I am going to give the book a shot too.

Nelson,

Regarding the ab workout that you posted. After we are in the fetal position and we let go of our knees and raise our arms, do we hold this position in a static contraction or do we sit back up and release the tension only to lean back again? I tried to do the exercise as best as I could without the pictures. I felt an awesome burn in my abs but I was holding the position, contracting my abs as hard as I could while being in the leaned back position. Am I suppose to sit up and go back again for repititions or just hold the contraction and feel the burn. It was a burn similar to doing ab planks.

Thanks.

There was an illustration I drew that was someone on the net (it's in the manuscript version) but can't seem to track it down now.

Yes, you should try to hold the contracted position, but of course, if you need to release the tension for a second or two, it's fine to sit all the way up. Just go right back down into position. Your abs will hurt plenty.
