negligible carbs

how many carbs can i get away with and still get into ketosis with? there are some i just cant avoid like the 3 g in my cheap ass protein powder.
 
Zero carbs is almost impossible, especially if you're otherwise eating healty. I'm not sure, but I think the cap can be as high as 20gr per day and still be in ketosis. Don't worry about the three grs.
 
The amount of carbs you take in is up to you and your body. I was taking in about 35 a day and never left Ketosis.

Right now I am taking in about 150 a day and taking about 2000mg of ALA and am still not out. I don't know what it is, but one day I wasn't in and I started taking the ALA and I was back in. Not turning sticks purple or anything, but still getting traces on them. Nothing better than a mod carb diet and still being in Ketosis

AHA! So THAT'S what ALA's for...
 
Don't even count carbs on a CKD, just don't take in any specifically. I used to almost hit 30g of carbs a day without even trying. Shit like cottage cheese and eggs have carbs. Yes 1 whole egg has 1g of carbs each.

If you're trying to sneak in an actual carb like a piece of bread or whatever then don't bother. You will be able to eat plenty during your carb-up so why risk it during the week? A CKD pretty much relies on you being in ketosis so if you are kicked out of it your diet will suffer.
