I have never really paid to much attention to the advise he gives, so I don't know about that. He does seem to have alot of people here who worship him, I don't know what that's all about.

Maybe you should pay attention to the advise he gives, then you would understand why he is worshipped.

Needsto gives great advice, he knows his stuff and he is also diplomatic and doesn't flame peeps.

He is incredibly helpful and goes out of his way for the lads.

There does seem to be something a bit odd going on, as there are comments that if you don't have many posts you are not 'qualified' to be a mod, and also that having 20 inch guns (how you look) does not qualify you either to give advice.

Personally, I think he is fantastic.

This is far from odd and is actually logical to some degree. Members equate # of posts with seniority / experience here at EF, which is not the wrong approach, IMO. Now, if someone ONLY looks at # of posts, then they are fools. But, it's only natural to use that as a barometer for judging someone. When a new mod comes along that has never posted or nobody has ever heard of (and no background is given about said mod), it's only natural to be wary if this person as an advice-giver. It cuts all ways.

And as far as the "your advice means nothing without rippled abs and 22" pythons", there is also a degree of sensibility to this approach. There is a reason NFL players tend to gravitate more towards coaches who are former players vs. coaches who never played - regardless of how great their mind / advice is. There's a lot of stock in "I've been there, done that. I am one of you" when giving/taking advice.

You can't discount any of these factors. And they should be just that - factors. Factors in a formula with several layers used to judge those that are giving advice.

Oh, and needto is a good bor. Good heart on that kid.

Good post.

With regards to new mods, backgrounds are posted in the sections they are responsible for, so for example, Mandi and I have our associations with fitness and bodybuilding in the Women's Forum.

Scotsman has more info about himself in the Powerlifting and Weightlifting forums.

As I mentioned in an intro thread in chat, I rarely post in chat. My focus on Elite is diet and training, with a particular focus on women.

With regard to AAS, there are a lot of peeps out there who have never competed in a sport to the national level, or never competed at all, but they may still have the background, education and experience that does qualify them to give advice.

Especially to others who never have any intention of competing, and a lot of the lads on this board fall into this category.
