Needsize squatting 435 like it's 135

i got that bitch on a 19" monitor. felt like he was right there. lol. funny. and that looked like it was heavy and stuff. :D

haha, funny thing is I think I had a few more reps, but I never squatted 435lbs for reps before so i was happy with 5
Tomorrow I'm videotaping my deadlift workout, I'm aiming for 8-10 reps on 500lbs, no belt or straps, I'll post that one too

Thanks, I'm posting my deadlifts for you tomorrow bro so keep an eye out, I'm aiming for 10 reps on that big 500, just to give you something to work for....

Aragorn, so true, the worst part is that he was right, but at that point I just wanted to get that fucker back on the rack. In a week or so I'm going to try for 5 on 455

you certainly did......but aint nobody growin when they blow the knees out... i rarely do forced reps for that reason on squats.....ill just strip a plate off of each side and rep out a few more and giver on the lunges

10 reps at 500 pounds with no wrist straps!? You are a fuckin beast bro. Next year hopefully I will pull 600. With straps though still. My grip although pretty strong is not proportionately strong to my back and legs. I train them hard and currently have been doing power holds with the thicker dumbells using the 120's and holding them for as long as I can. I do this at the end of my back and biceps workout. Hopefully I can get up 500 with no straps. I can get up 405 for a few reps but that's it with no straps. Oh well at least I don't wear wraps or a belt either. I'm going for a 505 pound deadlift again this Monday to see if I can still do it now that I'm off. I'll get it. Don't know if I will get it for 2 but I'll still try.

I just do straight sets on squats, and save the fun stuff like drop sets for hacks
 
Mike, sounds like you've got a good plan and you're on your way, you'll be pulling 600 in no time.
I was lucky, I learned to deadlift while training with nationally ranked powerlifters, so I had no choice but to avoid straps. Too be honest, I should be able to dead more, 2-3 months after I learned to deadlift I could already pull a 500, and that was still 100% natural. Plus, being built like a monkey with short legs and long arms does help

Come on man. I did 365 for 6 this passed week and I'm not even half your size. Well I'm only 5'7 200lbs 20bf% so I'm a short fat fuck with less distance to go though:p

No offence taken, I should be able to squat more, hell I could hit a 500 single when I was still natural, I just dont like training super heavy any more, makes my old body hurt too much now. Now I'm looking for ways to get big without having to go heavy
 
Damn bro, good to see someone showing proof of their claims. Too many times I hear people talk about their PR's and it sounds like bullshit, but you delivered. Excellent work!
 
drug_against_war, thanks, but too be honest the original reason I posted it was not so much that it was a heavy lift, but more to prove that I practice what I preach, squatting ass to the floor with no belt. But at the same time, in this age of internet phonies, it is nice to be able to back up my claims

i think you are capable of better. i would like you to work on keeping your form a little better. also, don't throw your knees in at the top and don't drop so fast at the bottom. again, no flame, just think you could do better. now get your ass to the gym and hit them deads!

My training partner dissto just got back from toronto now(11:30am) and seems to feel that sleep is important, so I dont know who I'm going to get to tape my deads...
