Needle size ..the nurse said this to me

i am using a 23g 1/1.4 needle

but my friend is a nurse and she said it doesn't need to go in all the way at all..

she said i can even use a 1 inch needle if i want

and she also said

the bigger the needle the better she told me to use a 18g (wow)

cause the smaller the needle the stuff just shoots out causing it to be sore the next day

can anyone shed any light on this matter

bigger needle- more scar tissue

1" should be fina for any injection unless you are a real fatass.

Absolutely right. All oil based injectables should be injected with a 18G needle. In fact sustanon preloads come with an 18G needle. And as for the soreness? Well people very close to me always likes an 18-20G needle size for just that fact, goes in smoother and there is less pain. as for the lenght 1 inch is good depending on where you are shooting and your BF%. If you are relatively lean the 1 inch is perfect for thighs and delts.

i don't do it that way. I like 22g or 23g for the glute, but use an 18g to draw the oil out, and switch the pin to a 22, 23 for less scar tissue damage. The gear has always worked fine with a 1in 22 23 g

you guys are nutz :p

does your doctor also know you inject every 5 or so days? if she does she doesnt deserve to be a doctor. I only ever had pain when i was using larger pins. 23-29 are perfect for anything.

Yeah, I used to use 22's, but then I "discovered" the 1 inch 25's and never looked back. 22's feel like spears compared to the 25's, I couldn't imagine using 18's!

Totally correct. Myself 25's & 27's. I'm not sticking a nail in my ass.......something gay about that.

Back 3 years ago when I did my first sust redijects, I didn't know to change the pins. So I stuck myself with the 20g's that it comes with. The first and 2nd time weren't so bad, but the 3rd time, the damn thing just wouldn't go in. I just jabbed and jabbed myself, until finally success and it hurt like a bitch. MM2K was where I first learned about gear, and they just said rediject pins a big but no pain no game.. BS.. All they had to say was swap out the pins!!!

I do not recommend anything lower then 22g

:freak:

An 18 gauge needle is for drawing, not human injection.

If you do not inject the entire needle you run the risk of moving the needle forward or backwards and inadvertently hitting a vessel or vein.

The last comment about “the stuff just shooting out” with smaller needles, makes zero sense.

I recommend 21 or 22g 1 ½ inch for glute and 1” for quads.

I jacked 2 omnas in each quad last Friday. I used 23ga 1" on the right one, and 21ga 1" on the left one. The right one still has a knot on it, the left one is fine.

Your nurse apparently hasn't done every day or every other day injections of juice for 6-20 weeks at a time. 18 g works perfect for drawing from the vial, thats about it. I vividly recall the first time I did a pre-load sust.....anyone got a small hammer to help me get this thing started?

Defying Gravity

how the hell could you say that a 18ga doesn't cause any pain i look at that thing and it hurts .thats a fucking harpon

1. If you do not push the pin it, you run a higher risk of tapping a vein. Say you push in 1" of a 11/2" dart and aspirate, and all is clear. Now you begin to inject, but as you push down on the plunger, you also push the pin in further, and into a blood vessel. It will not seem like such a good idea at that point!!

2. 18ga needles can be used(i hope you ain't sqeemish though, cause it's gonna look like your sticking a 10 penny nail in your ass), but you will get scar tissue much faster. I use a 23ga for glutes, and 25ga for all others. If you use proper injection technique, and massage the site soreness is minimal.

3. Nurses are not used to as frequent injections as we are talking about. Their knowlege of AS is minimal, as is their knowledge of how to safely use them form start to finish!!

23g 1in. works fine less tissue damage. you use an 18g several times a week you will have a lot of scar tissue. Believe me I know from personal experience not everything we learn in medicine is the same in the real world.

I use 18 to draw 23 to inject

If you injected in your glue with 18g, your ass would be a big piece of scar tissue. I would rather take the soreness, than have bigger holes in my ass. Take the pain.
