I made a very large impulse buy on ebay today that i shouldn't have made, is there any way out of this or am i stuck with my purchase? also if i am is it safe to pay by credit card? thanks.

I hate to say this..but just don't contact the seller....... its a fucked up thing to do though...if you made the bid you should buy the item... I did this too, once........ bought something very expensive that I should not of........ I ended up selling it myself on ebay later....... be a man........ you made your bed..now lie in it.....

are you a big buyer on ebay??? if not...cut off communication.. what is the sellers loss??? He reopens bidding on it! big deal! if you haven't paid for it bro, don't worry...just tell him it was a mistake and forget it. what's he gonna do try and find you for the money..no he will reopen bidding!

Yes, he could concievably take legal action. You made a contract to buy the item when you bid on it. You are allowed to retract your bid, but that can hurt you in the long run if you plan to buy alot from or sell alot on ebay.

If the auction has ended your best bet is just to e-mail the seller with an explination why... if he's an asshole just looses contact with him. If the auction is still open......open up a fake e-mail acount with hotmail or anyone, then open up another e-bay account and bid against yourself. Then you just never use the e-mail account or the e-bay user id again. Hope this was helpful

Bro!!!!!

There's a new rule on e-bay that says you can retract your bid up to 2 different times. There's a process you have to go through. Check it out on the website!!

Two solutions:

1) If the auction has not yet concluded, retract your bid and claim you had multiple windows open at the same time and bid on the wrong item.

2) Contact the seller and explain your situation. A good seller will usually contact the guy who bid just below you and try to sell it to him. (It happened to me and I got my item... yayyayayay my MacGyver episodes :))

3) Buy it and sell it back on eBay.

4) Hang yourself after bathing in hydrochloric acid following a nap on a bed of nails.
