Need help with 5x5

Does one need to be well conditioned to do a DF 5x5? I've started that routine this week and I already feel drained even though the weights feel relatively easy. I also made sure to deload the previous week.
 
I have been on a 5x5 since June, though what I am doing now is a little different than the linear 5x5, but no, you don't have to be well conditioned. I wasn't conditioned at all when i started, except I could sit on my ass all day with the best of them.

Are you doing the linear or periodized 5x5?
