I just bought a digital camcorder and shot a short video with it. Now I'm trying to post it but when I used the program to download it from the camera to the pc, it ended up a 78 megabyte file, and the video is only 22 seconds (no it's not a sex video, I can last at least 30 seconds with foreplay). That's obviously too big to post or email, what do I do.

I was thinking changing it to a different format with a lower resolution, but cant figure out how to do that. The program I'm using is ULead video studio 5.0 with windows ME, any suggestions?

I don't know the software, but the file is probably in an uncompressed format. Somewhere in the application (ULead) it should show you how to convert or change the format to mpg. That will compress it and lower the size dramatically.

Thats what I was thinking but I cant find how to do it in the program (ULead), its the one that came with the card I had to install to plug into the camera. I'm poking around kazaa to find something that is a little more user friendly

Ditto
Or something like that.

Okay, sounds good. If you can't find a utility or program to do that, let me know and I will look. I am pretty good at finding that sort of thing. I bet the program you got does it somehow. PM if you need help.

I have a digital camcorder too, but I use Pinnacle.

Somewhere in there, there should be an option to render the video down to a smaller size or different format. Something else I do is cut out the sound to make 'em smaller.

I use mgi video wave for my tapes. There are tons of different formats, and ways to downsize the files on that program. There is no way in hell you'll be able to send such a large file through e-mail.What you should do is post the video(whatever size you want)on a free site, and then you e-mail the people you want to see it the link to go see it.I use something called www.mightyeyes.com or something like that.works great.

try searching download.com for a program that will convert MPEG files to AVI.

I finally figured it out, that only took all day.
Anyone know of somewhere where I can get my own webspace to host stuff in the future?

Free? Our do you want to register a name and get space?

If the latter is true, send me a PM.
