Need help choosing a digital camera

My requirements:

My family has no idea what to get me for Christmas, so this is something I want but wouldn't buy myself. So keeping a modest cost in mind, I'd like as much detail as possible plus a preview screen on the camera.

I don't know enough about them to be able to specify anything more than that. Maybe ease of downloading onto pc would be another.

Hey I got that camera too. Nice but I was not able to hook it up to the computer. My computer already had too many peripherals.

You gotta be crazy to tell chicks you are loaded. You will attract the WRONG ones.

I just bought myself a Olympus c-2040 Zoom.

It's really damn nice. The color saturation is top notch, and the lense is very very sharp.

I love it.
