need doctor's opinion (again)...

head2toe

here's the chronology of events....from about sept. 13:
delt abscess infection drained by doctor after 5 days of pain, prescribed vicodin and penicillin, no workouts but 6 myoplex per day and no activity for a few days. Workouts possible with vicodin killing the pain but not quite 100%. A few days later, woke up with pretty bad pain in right kidney area. Urinalysis revealed some microscopic blood in urine (scary). Blood tests for liver/kidney/metabolic/blood...revealed no abnormalities except ALT was 74, but that's pretty normal, considering. Had IVP (pyelogram), but did not show enough, so had to have cystoscopy with retrograde pyelogram (pain killers worked great). doc said ok and no problems, but there is still a sort of feeling, not really pain, but feels like its not too great in that kidney area. My mom had lupus and dont know if this is some sort of lupus issue (probably not but i have no idea).
Finally, my question is what caused the pain (too much protein?)NO drugs taken in the interim couple of weeks other than vicodin and penicillin, and if the blood tests show no abnormalities but i still feel the sensations, what is the prognosis and advice if gear were in the future? Sorry for the length but thank you so much...i need the help!!!

ALthough i am a doctor,i am not a specialist in kidnay area, but maybe i can help you.
First of all, LUPUS is very rare in men. And the begining of lupus if often not so fast to develop syntoms.
More important that this feeling of "like pain" is that your urine volume is normal and your image and lab urine tests is normal.
the pain in kidney area is often associated not directly with damage in the parenchima (functional) part of the pain , but with distention of the renal capsula what occurs in nephritis and infections.
Keep on antiinflamatoryes and wait some days, be patient.
