I'm a coder, not a graphics talented person.

Where do you guys get your avatars? Do you shrink pictures in some software you found on the web or something?

Thanks for your help.

I really want to be cool like Milhouse, SG, Musclebrains, smallmovesal, etc.

This is my only opportunity.

Oh...and don't post pictures of Whoopi Goldberg as a suggestion for my avatar, thank you.

If you have PaintShopPro or any other program... I think windows comes with one... you can just choose the resize option , just shrink it down to 100X100 pixels.

Or, you can tell me what you want, I'll find it for you.

are you using a microsoft browser?

i did this

find a picture you want, right click (i assume you know this, but you or someone else may not) and choose save as.

then edit the size of the picture in microsoft photo editor.

I'd just like to state that being a minority has to do with the ratio of people in a particular country. North America is mostly white, hence non-whites are minorities. In South America, I would expect whites to be the minority.

But a broad general held description of "minority" would be someone of color. As you're as white as Ivory Soap.

I'm shocked that no one has ever called you out on this.

Well I know a family in my town the Dad is hispanic and the mom is white ( blond hair blue eyes). The two boys look just like the dad, very hispanic features( dark hair, eyes, darker complexion) the one daughter looks just like the mom ( blond hair, ice blue eyes, thin nose). Now the kids are all 1/2 hispanic and 1/2 white. The daughter has the same mix but looks like she is completely caucasian. You never can tell about genetics....SO even though Smalls looks white she can have a ethnic mix in her.

its more an issue of who can prove it or not, if you can prove it you can declare it. u are a dummy here if u say u are a minority and it's much further than your grandparents or great grandparents///// thats just my point of view anyhow

My ethnic background consists of German, Dutch, English, Scottish and probably a few more. Since most people in America don't have this mix and certainly each of these countries doesn't represent the American "majority", am I a minority too?

This girl is white. Same as me. "Caucasian" covers a whole range of ethnic backgrounds, same as "Middle Eastern" would.

I truly do want to know how you feel justified in calling yourself a minority. "Race" has fascinated me for some time and your view on it certainly shocked me.
 
You can only be a "real" minority if you are discriminated against. Otherwise, almost everyone can claim to have some type of minority bloodline where-ever they live.

But what do I know, maybe in Canada when you walk into a store, the manager tells his lackey, "Aw shit, look what just wandered in.. one of those damn Metis bitches. Follow her around and make sure she doesn't try to lift any dreamcatchers, mocccasins, or whatever the hell those people buy."

Yikes!!! I know both parties, and both parties deserve an opinion from me (did that conceited? sorry), but it's tricky.

Still, I gotta be honest, so....

On the one hand, I agree that "minority" does not necessarily mean ethnic background. I mean, I'm a Russian Jew--grandparents Gestapo refugees. But I just say "white" because I don't have to deal with any shit whatsoever.

(Except when I go to Minnesota, which I used to do. Everyone there was blonde, tan, tall, all-around Nordic gorgeous! I felt like an albino midget--talk about FUGLY!)

So I agree with the that definition of minority. "One who has to deal with shit." And as a gorgeous blonde, I wouldn't put Smalls in the category of minority.

HOWEVER, the talk here has been so dismissive and rude. And personal attacks all over. Lots of snipers, only one target. That's not cool, guys.

I know you're all at work and the frustrations get to you and this girl says something you don't agree, thus putting herself in the line of fire, but SHE'S STILL A PERSON. You just have a political difference is all. And she obviously respects her heritage a great deal, which is commendable.
