Need advice on possible absess

I gave myself an aflutop injection into my left glute about 4 days ago. Usually I use a 23g 1 1/2, but this time i used a 23g 1inch. The area of the injection welted up about 2 days later. Now it's noticable when you look at it, it looks like a dime sized lump under the skin. It's a little red around the welt, and for the past couple days it has gotton a little bigger each day. It hurts, but not so bad I have trouble sitting down yet. I'm not running a fever, and I feel fine. It almost seems like I didn't get the liquid into the muscle and it went into the fatty tissue above the muscle. Should I go to get it checked out at the emergency room, or should I just wait it out for a couple more days and see what happens. I've never had an absess before, so I don't really know what to do. Thanks for any suggestions guys.

its a little red, but I can't notice it being any hotter than any other place on my ass

What most people do not understand is they would know if it was an abscess. It grows at a very rapid pace, the pain is excruciating, and it is red raised and hot to the touch.
