Need a new computer!

I need a new computer. What kind should I get?
Apple, Mac, Dell, Compaq, ........

Just want it for downloading, chating, and keeping records for bills and shit.

Dell, Gateway etc... all those name brands will get the job done.

Everybody has some horror story about 'a guy who knows a guy who had a shitty ______ (insert brand)" but most are pretty decent.

Stay clear of Macs tho. But check out Apples.
