need a little help with dieting

I'm new to the form and i could use a little assistance. been in kungfu (shaolin & sanshu) for a while and my cardio has been excellent, except for the fact i'm aging!! I'm 42 and i feel as though i need to improve my diet. i haven't been counting calories and all of that, but i now need help with this. I am currently 5'8", 165-170lbs (on the thin side). I'm not looking to put on 20lbs! I'd like to get around 10ish. I have some suppliments (friends tell me this and that is for this and that!) that i'm don't completely understand the cycles, etc.. I've never delt with this before and I need to learn a little more about dieting.
Could someone help me or guide me with this?
Am I in the right place for this kind of question??
Appreciate the help.

It is advisable to consult a doctor before using any diet supplements. You are already maintaining a healthy lifestyle naturally. Yoga & meditation will help tone your mind and body. Eat fresh fruits, nuts and vegetables. Following a healthy diet with essential nutrients and exercise regimen will naturally help you gain the extra pounds. Have a positive thought that you’ll gain the extra pounds and live a healthy life. Never fall under any gimmicks for diet pills.
Avoid processed, canned, junk and sugar based foods. Avoid using low calorie or low sugar foods as they may contain aspartame. Natural sweeteners are low in Glycemic Index compared to processed sugar and artificial sweeteners. Honey, date sugar, agaves nectar, coconut sugar, barley malt, fructose, maple syrup, maple sugar, maltose, molasses, barley syrup and sorghum syrup are few natural sweeteners. Follow a healthy lifestyle and live happily.
