Nasty Injection Rash

Hey, my buddy shot 1cc of Deca in to his Glute using a 22G 1" pin, a couple days later ne noticed a bruise like rash apperaring, now the rash is red and really puffy, also raised off his skin about a quarter of an inch, and about the size of a CD, real nasty. Whats up? was the needle to short?

Had the same thing happen to me once with some EQ. I don't know what the deal was but I was really thinking it might be an abcess for a while. In time it just went away... Is this the first time he has injected this product. If it's new and this is his first one out of the bottle I would think seriously before using it again. If it starts to get warm to the touch, swells, has nasties coming out of it etc... I would consider going to the doc before it gets worse. Your buddy may have an infection but doubt it with the information you provided.

Sounds More Like An Infection Than A Rash. Tell Him To Use Warm Compresses About 4 Times A Day. This May Help Reduce The Symptoms. If Not Tell Him To See A Doctor.

Thanks guys, it was his second shot, and it is warm to the touch and is very red and puffy, ill tell him what you guys said thx alot

I agree. I had the same thing happen 2x and both time's i had to go to the doc and get some Keflex to take care of it.

Don't wait too long to see an MD-especially if he starts getting dizzy/feverish it's time for th ER. An untreated abcess could turn into a Staph infection and lead to huge Med bills and/or death!

Is he shooting a home brew? If so, what is it? Who made it? No need for the rest of us to go through the same shit.

^^ I agree, been seeing wayyyy to many "is this an abcess" threads lately, granted a lot of them are probably because unsteril injection process, but with all the new ug labs popping up stands to reason that some are more sterile then others....
I know that nobody wants to bash a product/lab, especially because you would have one lab bashing another for obvious reasons...

but if it is a true abcess from tainted gear thats another story..
