if you send someone a message and they delete it without reading it will that status show on the sent mail folder for that message?

Yes, shows up as 'sent' untill the read it.

what if they don't read, but just delete it instead? Will it say deleted?

I wish I was stalking! That is much more fun than trying to keep people away from your kids on myspace.

Not sure... I would think it would still say 'sent' ? Send her like 10 more messages just incase.

Nah, no chick on this one. That would be too much for you all to handle. I am trying to see if my kids are learning their lesson about deleting mail from people they don't know.

You can only offer advice and tell them about all the fruitloops out there in cyberspace, however, you can't "make" them do anything. (meaning your kids or anyone else for that matter)

I know, what I am trying to see is if they are learning their lesson so I don't have to block myspace. Especially with the nuts I have in my area!

I know how hard it is to parent kids that don't live under the same roof with you so that is why I am telling you that you can only give them the heads up. You have to trust that they will tell you the truth when it comes to their behavior and leave it at that.

I have had to bite my tongue on MANY occasions but in the end it paid off bigtime because they will ultimately fess up when they do things that they shouldn't have.

Also, you have to learn to choose your battles very carefully, much moreso than when you live in the same house with them.

Too much easy internet access and very little to no supervision whatsoever are the main reasons why I am hoping to begin a mentoring site for kids/young adults in the near future. Too many kids have no clue about the longterm negative rammifications of their behavior and with all the new technology they have easy access to, it only makes things worse for them, compound that with the fact that MOST parents don't have a clue (nor do they WANT ONE) and they are disasters waiting to happen.

I know you care about your kids, Chesty but if you get too Gestapo and "sneaky" about your tactics this will cause them to withdraw and become ubersecretive. The last thing you want is for your kids to shut you out completely.

Yeah, I know, it is just a small test. Nothing big. They don't have internet access at their moms place so only here do I have to worry. Especially when I am at work.

Thanks! If I had it to do over again, I wouldn't have had any kids or ever got married. I am just not cut out for this shit!

why dont you just get thier myspace login info without them knowing and login and delete shit yourself every morning.

why dont you just put their setting on only receive messages from my friends. That way only people on their friends list can send them messages, not creepy people they dont know.

I have done that. I am just trying to get them to become more responsible and be weary of anything that doesn't seem right. Can't always be there for them.
