Thing was about 500 bucks, It was a decent looking metal analog watch, essentially just a quartz clock, but it was radio controlled and turned to 0:00 once every day then got transmission with the armband as antenna with the atom clock in Frankfurt, and turned itself to the exact correct time. The thing hadn`t been a second off in 4 years. it does time zones too.
Today i went sailing, i have this thick tub that screws shut to put stuff in to keep dry. I didn`t fully trust it being waterproof so i took a plastic bag put the watch in it and tied it shut. then put around bag around it and tied that shut. then put it in the tub, closed that carefully and i figured it was cool.
got back, saw my watch was 3 hours late and soaking wet, not running. Now my dad thinks im a complete idiot. Hes disected the whole thing and put all the pieces in alcohol.
