MANCHESTER — Three men — two from Nashua and one from Massachusetts — were stabbed in a fight outside the Omega Entertainment Complex at 494 Elm St. in Manchester early yesterday morning, police said.
Police were still working to unravel the story behind the fight, which happened about 1:30 a.m. on Auburn Street, outside the club. So far authorities have said the melee may have spilled into the street from an incident inside the club, in which a man inappropriately touched a woman on the dance floor.
The three men were identified by police as: Angel Valentin, 28, of Lawrence, Mass., stabbed in the upper-middle portion of his back; Willie Diaz, 23, of Nashua, stabbed in his stomach; and Nelson Cora-Delgado, 22, of Nashua, stabbed under his left arm.
Valentin was treated at Catholic Medical Center and released, according to the nursing supervisor on duty last night.
Diaz and Cora-Delgado were taken to Elliot Hospital. A nursing supervisor on duty there last night refused to release conditions on either of the men.
Safety concerns at city nightspots, including Omega, recently caused Mayor Robert Baines to call for a crackdown by police on rowdy club-related behavior.
Referring to the weekend stabbings, Baines said last night it's time to correct the problem or shut Omega down.
"This is an absolutely outrageous situation — and an unacceptable situation for our city," Baines said.
"(Omega owners) have to decide what kind of business people they're going to be in our city. Either be responsible or shut down. They're attracting the wrong element to our city," Baines said.
"I have zero tolerance for this kind of activity in Manchester. Whatever steps necessary to stop this, whatever it takes, that's what I'll do. I'm not going to let it happen in my city," Baines said.
Other recent incidents:
In July, a Manchester man was arrested for firing four shots outside Omega.
In mid-August, police said a man was stabbed on Elm Street after two groups leaving different clubs confronted one another.
In late August, two people were assaulted after leaving another popular downtown dance club, Club Liquid on Amherst Street.
Two weeks ago, a Penacook man suffered serious facial fractures after he was punched in the face minutes after walking out of the Amherst Street club.
Omega manager George Maroun recently complied with local authorities who told him he had to beef up security by hiring up to five police officers for special detail on Saturday nights, in addition to staff bouncers and security.
Maroun could not be reached for comment last night.
As for yesterday's stabbings, police said they believe as many as eight people may have been involved, but so far no arrests have been made.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
All the stabbing happened outside the club. A lot of cars were broken into also.
Apparently, a rape may have occured in one of the cars also.
I had to throw out quite a few people.
Two in particular assaulted members of our staff. A bouncer and a shot girl!!
I had both guys completely unconscious when I threw them on the curb. The police never even said a word to me about it. They know that I am very lenient and for me to knock someone out or choke them unconscious that shit went down.
I need to find a new club. I am going to bring my gun from now on when we clear the parking lots. Its getting bad!

@ "heavy". At least I don't refer to it as "chunky."
