My New Theory on John Walker Lindh

Thanks for all the great responses to my thread questioning why he was guilty.

People brought some good points and some people just posted ignorant kill 'em ll bullshit.


Now I think that his punishment should be determined by how willing he is to cooperate with the US govt in providing info about any type of terrorist organization.

That will demonstrate whether he was a deeply religious young man who was in the worst possible place at the worse possible time, or if he had any desire or will to contribute to innocent deaths in America or abroad.

Actually he was working with a group of guys who were allies with the US prior to 9/11. It is not illegal, violates no constitutional law and consequenly he is not being charged with treason because he is innocent.

The only legal violation he may be guilty of is supporting a declared enemy of the US during war time. He would only be guilty as of 9/11 and most likely not be convicted because the US had not and has not declared war on anyone.

But other than that, I guess you are right.

For the millionth time NO it is not treason. That is why the Attorney General never considerd charging JWL with it.


If there was a possibility of him being guilty of treason, they would have at least mentioned the charge as a possibility.

he was being held at the prison when the riot broke out and the CIA agent was killed.

he was found curled up in the corner of the basement of the prison crying.

i dont believe he was an accessory to the crime because he had been taken captive and being held at the prison. he was definately not there by choice.

like i said, all i can do is to base my opinion on what is publically known. if it turns out he was plotting to kill or instigate the prison riot- kill him. that is definately how it looks now, though.

i love it when someone says he should be killed and they have no good, logical reason and cannot argue against any of the reasons i have that he was guilty of hardly anything.

Yeah, it is entertaining.

But then again, if people had the mentality you do, when they arrived at a homeland under orders to kill anything and everything in it's way... because the people are 'bad'... if they could put down their guns for a moment, and talk amongst each other, they would find it isn't the people on the fields they hate or despise, it's the very people that tell them to go fight that feed them with lies.

I was watching 'War Letters' tonight on PBS. One of the soldiers, read a letter he wrote about charlie back in the day he was fighting... now an old man, he had carried around a picture of the man he killed... with him in the picture was his daughter.

Many years later, he met his daughter, who was now grown up... and he realizes that had he had the opportunity to speak with the man, before pulling the trigger on only a target, he would realize this target he was shooting, was a human, with a heart, mind, and soul, a child, and possibly a wife he loved, who was only out on the fields fighting with a gun for the very same reason he was. For the love and duty he felt for his country.

Had these two men met five years before the incident and conversed... they wouldn't have hated each other and wanted the other dead.

I'm off on a tangent again, don't really know where I am going with it... it was just a really good show and made me think of the people on the other side we are blowing up that we never hear speak... rather, we hear words of the government, well, not words from their government, words from our government, regarding their government.

News is only as reliable as its source you know.

Personally, on Walker's case... Much like dude, I don't know much of the case... however, I don't see what he has done to warrant death... or life in prison for that matter. I would have to know more on the subject in order to give my opinion. Or much like dude, I'll end up sounding like an ass.

I know you were joking bro... sorry about the confusion.

I was saying that if people had your mentality when they landed to go 'kill em all' if they could have a moment to understand who or what it is they were shooting at... they'd realize the other person has their same mentality and wants.

Their ignorance blinds them, makes them see only a target, and consider it okay only because our government has fed to us what they believe in or do.

I knew a guy in college who turned out to be a fag. He hooked up with chicks, had a script to Playboy and a bunch of straight porn. He was trying as hard as he could to be normal but his piece of shit uncle molested him when he was like 6 years old and it totally fucked him up. One time his family came to visit with the uncle and that night we found him crying like I've never seen anyone cry, thats when he told me the uncle molested him.

Thats why those fuckin priests should be put away, too.
