your doggie is gonna fire a monster missle on your floor tonight, dont forget to take pics of that
and lift his leg to your kitchen table.
we don't need pics to prove that though.
one thing that helped us with house breaking was the crate. we got our female shepard a large crate a few days after we got her. since she was so tiny, i put a board in the crate as a partition. she had enough room for her and that's it. she couldn't access the other part of the crate. when we weren't home, she wouldn't piss or shit in the crate (well, most of the time) because if she did, she would have to lay in it afterwards. it actually helped out a lot because she learned how to hold it in during the day when we weren't home, and as soon as we'd get home, we'd open the crate and take her outside immediately before she had a chance to go in the house. then she'd get praise for going potty outside, which was positive reinforcement that she was supposed to go outdoors and not in the house. as she got bigger i continued moving the board back to give her more room. she's content to lay in the crate during the day when we are home. it's like her own bedroom. the crate is also handy when we have company, as i can lock the dogs up so they don't lick people to death and knock them over. i'll either crate them or toss them in the basement. i'd rather put them in the crate though, as they've pissed and shit in the basement before.
she was a tough dog to house break. i was very attentive to her and would take her outside every hour on the hour, and if she'd start going nuts and doing the pee-pee dance, i'd take her out immediately, even if we had just been out 10 minutes earlier. i'd take her out, she wouldn't go, and then 10 minutes later she'd go in the house. she was 9 months old before she was pretty much house broken, but still had accidents all the way up to about 13 months. if it wouldn't of been for the crate, however, i probably would've gotten rid of her within the first 6 months, as i would've come home daily to piss and shit in the house.
our male aussie mix wasn't as bad, but we got him when he was 6 months old. he had a few accidents within the first few days. 2 days after we got him we had to take him to the vet to get his nuts cut off (we got him from the SPCA, they made the appointment for us before we took him home so we HAD to do it). i think he took that as a threat, and he didn't have nearly as many accidents from then on as our female shepard did when she was that age.
good luck with the dog
