My Katrina refugee..........*PICS*....

Now that I got this pic thing down, I thought I would share my pet (well, was for a spell)
Katrina blew him and brother out of tree during storm and I bottle feed them both (one didn't make it)

Once the summer came back around I brought him to a friends house. They have like over 20 acres with 3 ponds and they feed all the squirels in the area from his golf cart.

anyway,

http://tinypic.com/view/?pic=3ynpe1u - he snagged one of my hot tamales! lol

http://tinypic.com/view/?pic=44185rl - and then wouldn't give it up!

http://tinypic.com/view/?pic=2zyyfjc - I never knew they could be so tame! Hard to catch when you wanted to put him back in cage though....can you blame him? :)

dont they carry numerous diseases? i think some states have laws against owning squirrels.

Yeah, your not suppose to keep them but I couldn't bare to just leave them there and die. I took them to vet and they weren't allow to treat them either but they did tell me to buy cats milk to feed them. They didn't even have their lil eyes open when they were found. One obviously was sick to begin with...premature, just much smaller.

Awwwww...you remind me lots of myself. I used to take in animals like that too when I was growing up in the country. My family used to teasingly call me "Ellie Mae" because I had so many "pets"

I love hot tamales. lol.

I don't live in the country but I love animals. I used to have 2 exotic birds...a double red head amazon and a umbrella cockatoo. I ended up selling them because it was really cruel that I had them. They had each other (was hand feel together since they were hatched) and had a huge cage BUT they are really like a 3 year old and requires LOTS of attention.
I work all day and when I would get home and put the tv on, the amazon would scream at me.....MOOOMMMA!
said things like, I am a bad bad boy, morning, I see you, momma, Dylan, Tony, I'm talking to you.
I just loved the amazon!
