If it's clogged from flu/allergy, it's more than likely an inner ear infection. If it's not really painful, just leave it alone and it should clear up within about 3 or 4 days...otherwise, you probably need antibiotics. If you're experiencing dizziness, it's definitely the inner ear...the pressure will throw your equilibrium off. The other remedies are for outer ear problems of wax which wouldn't have anything to do with the flu/allergy thing but the warm oil will at least give a little temporary relief. Kinda like drinking warm tea when you have a sore throat...won't cure it, but it feels good. Also, if there is some pressure in the ear, like from being on an airplane, try pinching your nostrills shut and blowing (not too hard)...sometimes it'll pop and the fluid will drain out by itself.
