my CD-Roms keep popping open for no reason

I'd update my virus def. files and give it a try...Norton is pretty good.

I will try that when I get home

they are popping open simultaneously upon double clicking of certain icons and such, and I just brought my computer home from being rebuilt at compUSA this week I wonder if they screwed it up

Happened to me before. It was a trojan horse virus; someone was basically opening my CD-ROM drive at will.

The only virus able to do that is a remote trojan, trust me I've had it done to me.

or it could just be a virus and not a trojan that rewrites the location of all .exe icon to a simple dos cmd that will open your cd tray

Yeah, an anti-virus program will take care of it, assuming it's up to date.
