My calves are looking awesome

never liked my calves, could never keep up with my quad/ham developement. so i do them every time i train.

I played basketball for 10 years, my calves are pretty tight.

I found working them at least 2x a week and caused some nice growth, too.

Every time you train? shit....

You guys ever try the calf workout nelson montana recommended? I do that once a week, shit kills.

Working them 3x per week seems to be paying off. I happen to catch a glimpse at my reflection while doing cardio today and I was like damn!

I had my fat roommate do it when he came to the gym with me for a few months.

The first time he did it, he was fine the next day (which was a friday) but then on saturday he couldnt even get out of bed. He had to wheel himself around our apartment in his computer chair. It was the same the next day, too :lmao:

He was pissed to because the kid lives to drink booze and he couldn't go out on saturday.

is that where you pick a weight and do up to 100? Like you start, do as many as you can, we'll say 38, then you briefly stop, then continue again and repeat until you reach 100

Yes, basically. I do it to 75 though. Rest for 8-10 seconds, just enough for the intense burn to fade. by the end you're getting like 5-8 reps

Sorearms can you dig the original post up? I just tried and then realized nelson's board is gone. And I'm not plat

nothing comes up when I search for calves or calfs under nelson montana as the poster. I can find posts by him, but so much crap comes up that it would take me fore ver to look through every thing.

Hol on, let me try something

I've been playing BBall all my life and I don't have much in the calves. Black folks don't have calves, but on average I think we have more speed and hops then all ethnicities.

I'll summarize his routine.

Pick a weight you'll hit failure on around rep 20. Stop, let the burning fade. Contine again, until failure. Stop, let burning fade. Continue for 75 reps.

Next time go for 100 reps. Next time add weight and go for 75 again.

hmmm, i hold 3 seconds at the top and bottom of each rep. this would be very painful.

It is. No joke, I couldn't walk normally for a week. After a couple times you don't get that sore though.

It's low weights, high reps, and it grows?
So 75-100 reps per workout. Broken into sets caused by failure?
It is standing, sitting, beltcage, smith?

Yea, low weight high reps, it seems to give my calves a nice "separated" look, although they don't increase much in size.

I've always preferred it standing. I've done it all ways though.
