that stuff was the stuff. i bought like 9 bottles of it when it first came out, still had a mess of it after the bannage.manny78 said:Xanax as a sleeping medication ? Wow, that or getting drunk will most likely make you sleep for hours and when you wake up, guess what ? Feels like you never slept at all. Too bad GHB is no longer prescribed...

Unfortunately, I use Clonapin for it's secondary mechanism in neurological analgesia, and not for sleep, anti-epilepsy or anti-anxiety, so I can't comment on it's effect for those three [more common] uses or it's recreational value.
3-4 mg BID-TID clonazepam works well for me in my case (damage to 8th cranial nerve), but tends to leave me in a waking stupor... not really, but it sure feels like it. I would nonetheless recommend asking a doctor about longer-acting benzodiazepams (1,4-benzodiazepams only in the U.S., not much documentation for 1,5-benzodiazepams here) -- Xanax is one of the hardest with respect to withdrawl symptoms as well, despite it's relatively short half-life.

it's definitely a tricky process, my doc won't give me monthly xanax scrips. he's leery of me getting hooked. he'd rather i use an anti-depressant in conjunction with the anti-anxiety. i don't know why, exactly, but this is what i have.samoth said:Clonazepam has both a quick onset as well as a long duration of effect.

it's only helped as long as i'm in supply of them. even just knowing i have some at hand can help with an attack. but if not, i find myself having to talk myself down. the xanax seem to be able to remove the edge for me for most of the day, atleast the most intense part.samoth said:The first benzo I was prescribed for this was Xanax. It worked -- for like, a couple hours.
Xanax XR lasted longer, but nothing over 4-5 hours in my case.
Clonapin seems to work the whole day pretty much.
Don't know what mech the anti-epilepsy/anti-anxitety drugs work thorugh to cause neurologic analgesia, but it's all we've found to work so far. Non-benzo anti-epileptics like gabapentin haven't worked, nor have the tricyclic anti-depressants I tried. I'm trying some anti-depressant with a dual action on both norepineprin as well as serotonin called "cymbalta", I believe. Doesn't appear to have any [neurologic] effect. Meh.
