My assault on Nolvadex!! (Nolva is a carcinogen??)

its well known that nolva increases risk of endometrial cancer.

it is a SERM. Its not an estrogen blocker, in some tissues- like the uterus it acts as a strong estrogen. This is also why it can help with bone loss and blood lipids- because of its ESTROGENIC ACTIVITY.

as a note- estrogen is also considered a carcinogen- and would under the same circumstances yield a similar result (perhaps in higher numbers)

What would you prefer... Bitch tits your whole life, or cancer when you are 75?

The amount of Nolva people take is probably the same as sitting next to someone smoking...

estrogen is the theoretical "trigger" for breast, uterine, ovarian- etc cancers. since women go into menapause (the women in the study were menapausal) they stop producing as much estrogen (after menapause estrogen is produced mostly peripherally via aromatase). If they had continued to produce normal amounts of estrogen the it would have likely triggered the same cancers- and likely at a higher rate since estradiol has much stronger activity than SERMS (even when they are agonistic)

macro, I understand your argument, that estrogen itself is carcinogenic.

But nolva IS more carcinogenic than OTHER anti-e's regardless.

I did some research, and it seems to me that Evista may be the drug we're looking for.

I compared Evista to toremifine.

Toremifine decreases gonadotropins (unless I am wrong). So basically toremifine wouldn't be that great.

That leaves Evista. Evista seems very favorable in many ways. I would choose it over nolva.
