After lots of research and talking to a lot of the people on the HST forum, I have decided to do a MWF AM/PM schedule for HST (which equates to 6x a week full body).
The problem is, I do not know how I should eat on the days when I am working out twice in a day. I will basically be needing 2 pre workout meals and 2 post workout meals. But with those meals, I usually had just taken my supplements (protein, creatine ethyl ester, BCAAs, and dextrose).
How should I allocate these supplements now that I am working out twice in the same day? Should I just split all of my regular supplementation in half for both pre and post-workout meals, or should I take in double the supplements and keep the same pre and post-workout ratios.
Here was my original diet I was going to use for a normal 3x a week workout schedule:
Meal 1 – 1.5 cups Kashi Go Lean, 1 cup of fruit or a banana, 1 cup skim milk, multivitamin, flax pill
PRE-WO – 1/2 cup oats with honey, 1 scoops whey, ½ teaspoon creatine, 1 teaspoon (2 scoops) BCAA
PWO – 1/2 cup oats with honey, 1 scoops whey, 32g dextrose, ½ teaspoon creatine, 1 teaspoon (2 scoops) BCAA
Meal 4 – large pasta with chicken, vegetables, and marinara (or turkey sandwich w/double meat, salad), flax pill
Meal 5 – plain chicken breast, 1 TBS olive oil, rice, veggies
Meal 6 - turkey sandwich (lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle) (possibly double meat), salad
Before Bed – small salad with tuna, lots of almonds (20+), flax pill
2953 calories, 68 fat, 400 carbs, and 213 protein (51% carbs, 29% protein, 21% fat). I am 128 pounds, 6-6.5% bodyfat, 5'5'' male.
I will obviously need to take in more calories with such a strenuous workout plan. Should I modify my diet by adding in twice the supplements (4 scoops of protein instead of 2, 2 scoops of CEE instead of 1, 8 scoops of BCAAs instead of 4, and 64 grams of dextrose instead of 32)? Or should I just keep the same amount with all my supplements, split them in half for each of my workouts, and just add in more food?
Thanks for your help. If that is too complicated to understand, I will try to make it clear for anybody who is willing to help.
