Must be platinum to search now?

It will be changed soon. This is just to ease people into the idea so nobody is pissed off once it takes in effect. Atleast then the mods cant get pissy and say do a search when a newbie asks a question because now it is a platinum feature.

With the amount of "Anabolic Webboards" on the internet --and considering there is a new one each week, this whole idea of limiting features on the site is just going to cause users to go else where.

It's bad enough we can't view pics now. I know it costs money to maintain a site, but when you have 30 others offering the same thing, you can't expect to charge people money....

Yep the search still works without platinum membership, but I too been scared a bit when I saw the new '' platinum search button''

That's a terrible idea- get ready for an even greater flood of dumb newbie questions... and now we won't even be able to tell them to do a search.

I was thinking the exact opposite.

Now there will be even more newbie questions asked over and over and over.. as if there was not enough already.

I think that eventually limiting it to Plats' only is a VERY bad idea.

Without access to search, new users will have a very difficult time determining whether it is worthwhile to go platinum, or whether some obsure topic has been discussed in depth. The number of "same old questions" will only get worse.

IMO, it will chase away more revenue than it generates.

I agree.
I dont really use the search that much but newbies wont be able to use it either.
Therefore alot of What is Clambutteroil questions and will I get any sideffects with this etc.......

No disrespect bro... but we get a TON of those questions even WITH the search feature LOL

The flipside is that in addition to all of the (extra) repeat questions, those that pay for the search feature will have to sift through many more posts because of the repetitive threads -- greatly delaying, and perhaps negating the ability, to find useful information from a search.

We have the search feature but some days it's like no one use it. We still get the daily quota of Ip thread, does novaldex hinder gains, is winny injectable any better and blablabla.

Among things newbies could do:

- Sign up for Platinum Membership and get access to this feature and many more. For example soon we'll have a "Chemistry board". Also, with your membership, you get discounts at .ElitefitnessNutrition .

- Buy an E-book like CME which will provide more than you need concerning basic AAS knowledge or Legal Muscle which is a "pocket-size attorney". It should usually answer most of your questions concerning AAS laws.ElitefitnessNutrition

Or, I could just sit here and merge all those threads that ask the same question into one? That might solve the problem too, right? :)

This is just wrong! The search is a great free resource. I am platinum, but I am still pissed off about this.

there are too many good free boards out there for me to waste gear money on being able to use the "platinum search"

i think its seriously a bad move to start locking down the site to evryone who doesnt' want to pay. theres a lot more to this site than just the people who pay to become a platinum member. a lot of guys have great advice and information and are a tremendous asset to the board. there's a lot here that is anoying enough as it is for non-platinum members... sooner or later guys are going to start going to other boards with less BS.

the search feature on this site is what basically taught me everything i wanted to know about anabolics and training. Although EF has a lot of info, if I were a newbie and looking to research, I'd search other free boards that have just about the same information and in doing so develop relations within that board. I'm sorry I would support the site and everything, but everyone has different financial situations.
I guess what i'm trying to convey here is.... I strongly believe no good will come of this.

Bro's,

I appreciate your concern and I wish advertising could pay for everything here too. Unfortunately it cannot.

Trax, if this site taught you everything you wanted to know about Anabolics, then I do not think it is too much to ask for you to invest $8.98 a month to search the largest bodybuilding archive ever assembled in the history of the sport.

Or, you can become Platinum to help sponsor Clint, to help Elite, to Search, to Chat, to look at Pics, for the $11.97 EliteFitnessNutrition.com coupon, for the stealth site, for the extra PM's, to get rid of the ads, or for the free bonus reports. Or, you can decide that it's not worth $8.98 a month.

But I hope we can all agree not to bitch about what it takes to keep us online -- instead I hope we can thank the Platinum members who make this site possible.
