Every peice of nu metal, no talent shit that you like is shit to me yes. This is because for some strange reason, i like music that has some talent behind it, not just crappy, shouty shite that is popular with 12 year old gothic kids. Call me what you will, but what you listen to is pure shit. Slipknot and other kerrang tv channel made popular bands cant be compared to aerosmith, bon jovi, guns n' roses, metallica, def leppard or any other decent band.

Well i dont agree with either of you two here. I do like Bon Jovi, and G n' R, and aerosmith but i also like korn and slipknot. Welsh you seem to only think a band is decent if its been around for yers (See your list you gave) and everything else is shit with no talent. you cant say that all bands like that are without talent. Well you can do in the same way that i say all R n B is shit with no talent but hey . . .

Gay for liking those bands?

Right, if you look at the number of copies HYSTERIA from def leppard sold (over 28 million) or APPETTITE FOR DESTRYCTION by guns n' roses (over 18 million sold) you cant say these bands are gay!
Guns n' roses, in the 80's were a huge influence on heavy metal and i consider them one of the best bands ever along with aerosmith(if you say they are shit, you have not got a clue what you are on about).
Say what you will about any of those bands, but you wont find any better hard rock bands talent wise than them.
Slash from guns n' rose is one of the best guitarists ever, matt sorum is one of the best drummers ever and axl is a cocky bastard, but still a classic singer!!

If you think Def leppard, Aerosmith, Guns n' roses or Bon jovi are shit then you obviously dont know fuck all about music.

And Jitsuka, i dont jsut like older stuff, altough i will admit, i prefer it....it is far better than most of the shit out now.

my fav band are Kid rock and they are new, i like creed, nickleback, foo fighters, oasis, alanis morrisette, metallica, uncle kracker, OPM(funky shit!), offspring, jimmy eat world. I also like other types of music....i bet alot of you guys on here only listen to rock/metal music....i also listen to Ice-t(rap/hip-hop), usher(RnB), loads of dance/club music and anything that sounds good on the radio.

I do listen to other music though, ALOT of oldies and some techno.

Anyways, what you guys were saying made me think about certain bands, Staind being the first that springs to mind. Could they have a long term future in music if they carry on like they are? Arent people gonna get bored shitless with more "Whoa is me my life is shit" songs?

As a steadily progressing musician i felt that my influences such as SlipKnot were simply not enough for me to utilise in my playing. The guitars are mediocre, cool but mediocre, and it's just far far too easy to play, and thats when the guitars are audible in the songs. I drifted over to Metallica some time ago now, and its improved my playing ten fold.

I still listen to SlipKnot, just not as much.

Tool is in it's own catagory, they are the only thing that gets me to the most intense level my body can attain.

Although, as far as rock goes Metallica is badass, but that was not the question.

whoa... this thread really has been going on forever. I like training to rock in general. anything from Metallica, to Korn, Rob Zombie, Slipknot, as long as its loud it works! The best motivation to workout however, is my fiance (who trains me)... encouraging me to keep on going, always makes me push myself even harder :)

Some things just don't work for me... a few weeks ago at the gym, while in the middle of my set, i was doing military presses, some golden oldie (must've been about 55) comes in and changes the radio station, From Metallica's 'Enter Sandman' that was playing, to freaking Nelly Furtado! nothing against her music, i like pop, just not while i'm lifting weights.
 
Yeah it's great.

Well, i'm off to Wales in 3 weeks. Then Italy, then France, then back to Wales then home. I cant wait.
